I have to say over the past approx 8 years GGC has become a very DISCRIMINATORY organization. As a person with a disability & also a someone who at that point (8 years ago) had been a member for 22+ years one would think the rules would be the same for everyone but they are not. The code of conduct that we all sign apparently also does not stand for everyone either, it's kind of willy nilly & each DC/AC will say whether something is appropriate or not (which is again them being a judge, jury, & executioner of my free speech when nothing was done wrong). This organization allows one person to be a judge, jury & executioner or you for anything and everything you do. Nobody including your other Guiders has access to a health form the Guiders so if you have a problem they wouldn't know who to call. New guiders are never told that there is a form that can filled out if there is an issue for incident reporting. As a Guider of 10 years & having done Safe Guide multiple times this has never once been mentioned. I have a disability and have been told on multiple occasions by different people within the organization that my service dog was not allowed to go to a Girl Guide camp with me or come to a meeting with me. Although I have made concessions with my service dog when I had a youth member tell me she was afraid of dogs, I chose not to bring him even though I need him. For Girl Guides of Canada ~ Guides du Canada to proclaim they are INCLUSIVE is absurd as I am living truth that over that last 8 years I have been DISCRIMINATED against on multiple occasions and have not been included in things such as camps simply because of my disability and my service dog. If I could give negative stars I would.
