Career Edge was there to give me the much needed break into my career path with an internship opportunity that was made permanent. Very lovely organization with wonderful and very helpful staffs. I have been telling everyone that cares to know the kind of help Career Edge can provide for New Immigrant trying to get the much needed break to their career path.

It's true that Career Edge provides internship in big organizations and it seems on the first glance to be a great blessing for the highly qualified immigrants, who are very new to Canada and lack Canadian education and experience. However, in some time, the qualified immigrant finds himself/herself trapped in a low end job and although 'Canadian experience' is getting added to the resume, it does not add much value to the resume since the job is a pretty low end and the recruiters in the market tend to have low confidence on your profile. It is good if you are not finding anything even after your hard job search for a very long time , since 'half a loaf is better than no bread'.

It is accurate to say that the opportunities presented by these internships are primarily aimed at large and well-known corporations. However, the compensation offered is often so minimal, especially when you factor in the lack of benefits, vacation pay, and vacation time. Of course, if you manage to turn your internship into a permanent position, you might be able to avoid some of these issues. But on the other hand, if you end up feeling resentful towards your job due to being overqualified or stuck in a dead-end position, or being employed in a menial labor job, or if you simply just don't mesh well with the company culture, things can get really miserable pretty quickly. So if you're looking for work in the GTA area, be careful not to accept a job that pays less than $60k per year, because chances are you'll end up feeling pretty unhappy with it!
