I really enjoyed my lunch experience at ViaVai the other day. The atmosphere was welcoming, spacious, clean and artistic. The service was good and the food was delicious, flavourful and clean real food. I was more than satisfied by the appetizer and main which I ordered. I'm also vegan and gluten free and was delighted to be so well taken care of by the chef and kitchen staff who prepared a special meal for me. I look forward to eating there again soon! Mar 2nd, 2017

WORST EXPERIENCE. This is my second time returning to this restaurant and I went in expecting the customer service to be poor but the pizza to be good like the previous time. It was disappointing that this time around everything was just terrible. There was one server for the whole restaurant during lunch time but there were only 4 tables with guests. We were not greeted, waited to be seated and then continued to wait until we were able to flag the server and ask for a glass of water while we wait. This time the food was served within 5 mins (great right... unfortunately not!). We ordered the Rapini and the Diavola pizza which was the exact same order I placed the first time I went there. However, this time the rapini pizza did not have sausages on it as mentioned on menu, it was soggy with diluted tomato sauce, burnt rapini and mini pepperoni ; tasted worse than microwaved pizza. The Diavola pizza did not have hot salami as mentioned on the menu and it was soggy with diluted tomato sauce, barely any mozzarella cheese and again mini pepperoni. When we asked the server if there was an error since it seems like both pizzas do not have the same toppings as stated in the menu, we were told that they ran out of sausages and salami so they substituted with mini pepperoni. Then I mentioned how my experience the first time around was completely different and was told that it's a different chef with a smirk. I understand when restaurants may run out of ingredients, but common courtesy would be to inform the guest that there is a change to the menu item prior to them placing the order. At this point, I was so over this place and the horrible experience that I just wanted to get out of there. We received the bill and were given a 5% discount which really didn't make a difference (still $40 for 2 pizza's and a fried zucchini -soaked in oil appetizer). I don't typically write reviews or complain but this time I had to because it was just awful! I definitely won't return to this restaurant. Feb 23rd, 2017

I went with a group of my friends for my birthday and I loved it! It's a beautiful location and the food was delicious. The staff was lovely and very accommodating. The pizza was very good and was surprisingly very affordable. I recommend the arancini and salumi board with gnocchi fritti Nov 30th, 2016

Via Vai is a beautiful restaurant located on Bay street just north of College. Our dinner was fantastic! We shared the breaded Calamari, Barbecue Chicken Pizza and Sausage & Rapini. The delicious Italian food was presented beautifully! Chef, Joe Friday graciously welcomed our group personally and the manager Arjun's wine suggestions paired perfectly with our dinner! Our experience was wonderful from start to finish! Oct 10th, 2016
