Defina Wood Fired

My sister and I had an incredible experience tonight at Defina. I had found the restaurant after going down a long rabbit-hole of restaurants in the city, and came across this one. The menu and vibe seemed excellent, so we made the trek up to the junction. Despite it being out of the way of the downtown-core, this restaurant is absolutely worth it. Upon arriving, we were immediately greeted by why I believe to be a manager, then promptly seated. They have a large selection of wood-fired pizzas, as well as some other lovely offerings. My sister and I ordered their wild boar meatballs as well as their Miami beef ribs as our appetizers. Both were incredibly flavourful, served hot, and had beautiful presentation. Next, we both had pizzas as our main. I had their diva margarita (which was amazing, and my sister requested to have a pizza custom built off of their base-margarita pizza. They were extremely accommodating, and professional. As someone who works in the hospitality industry as a chef, this was an outstanding dining experience. Major shout-out to our server, Nick, who was attentive for our entire time at the restaurant. If you're looking for an alternative dining experience outside of the touristy-allure of downtown, I highly recommend that you try Defina. The place is small and cozy, we were lucky we got a seat right away near the window area. Servers were great, pizza was nice and flavourful- the portions were big too, we had to take some leftovers home. They also had a nice selection of wines- will definitely be back some other time.
