Amazing school with fantastic teachers located in a picturesque historic building in a beautiful, tranquil area! French immersion programs are offered at this school. Fun fact: parts of Billy Madison were filmed inside JRR JRR is located right next to Glenview, a middle school, and Lawrence Park, a high school, so you can receive twelve years of education without leaving the block - the three schools are all right next to each other. Lawrence Park, the local neighbourhood, is the richest postal code in Canada so the atmosphere, demographics, and traditions of the school are unlike any other in Toronto.

I attended John Ross Robertson in the early 1950s, from Kindergarten to Gr. 5. I loved the teachers and the school itself. Kindergarten was held in the west side on the front, with the large arched windows - don'tknow if it still is. Even as a child I remember it well. It made this little girl feel a little older when I went into grade 1 and climbing the stairs, like 'big school'. We lived on Chatsworth Dr. across from Lawrence Park Collegiate, and that was where I fully expected to attend highschool. I'm glad to see JRR is still there, well attended, and appreciated by past students. PS: at Halloween, JRR used to host a big costume party for the students. Staff made it a fun event. I can't imagine those kind of things happen these days. It was also on the 3rd floor that I took my first violin lessons. Though I eventually switched to piano, I remember how gently encouraging the instructor was. Tempo. Tempo. Tempo.
