I have been a client of Christopher Shillington's for over two years now and they have helped me in innumerous ways that I hadn't expected when I initially started seeing them. Needless to say, my mental health is better than it ever has been as the adult version of myself - and this continues to steadily improve at a pace that I'm feeling good with. :)

I had a great stretch of sessions with Yasmin Kowlessar that helped me a lot. Will be going back in the future.

I was a patient of RP Leslie Kirsh until she disclosed confidential information to my parents. She went behind my back, and without warning me or asking me for permission, she told my very personal and sensitive therapy conversations to my parents. I expected her to keep what I said to her as private but she did not. She violated a important principle. She has caused me lots of damage by leaking my confidential information without permission. When I told Leslie about this, she dismissed it completely. I ended my therapy in a worse position than when I started because of this. To be clear, I did not say anything that would warrant mandatory disclosure. She just unnecessarily revealed private details of my life. I do not trust her with anything anymore.

I am so grateful to have had Umbrella Mental Health in my life. At a very vulnerable age when I was a teenager, I sought out therapy because I was a closeted transguy who was not out at school or to anyone in my small town. Going to Christie Station every Wednesday became a very important routine for me, where I became very independant and learned to fall in love with Toronto. I have seen a therapist and psychologist through Umbrella Mental Health, and when I transitioned from one to the next it was painless and professional. Every location I went to was clean, very atmospheric, calming, and accepting. I am so grateful that I had help from two queer individuals who understood and supported me. Now it is four years since I began therapy for the first time ever with Umbrella Mental Health and I keep getting better. I am forever in debt with this company. I will forever recommend and always support no matter what. Therapy got me through a very rough patch transitioning through life and as my new self, and having that support meant the world. It was affordable for me and those taking care of me made sure that therapy was accessible. Thank you for many years of growth, love, support, and hope.
