We've been to Pantheon many times before. We always ordered the "Pantheon Hot Combo for Two". We always asked for no sausage and we were always offered to substitute for calamari which we've always accepted. Yesterday, we asked for the same. The server Mike never mentioned this was not an option. We received our order and to our surprise, there was a huge sausage on the plate. We called Mike, he took the plate away and removed the sausage and brought the plate back. He then brought the substitute calamari. Our shock was when we get the bill showing a separate charge of $7.95 for the substitute calamari. We inquired, Mike said, substitutions are no longer allowed. Not even a hint of appology. We felt this was extremely rude and unjustifiable. Why did Mike wait until after we get the bill to say this? He had several occasions to state this fact. In addition, my daughter asked for a side tzatziki with her main meal, instead, Mike decided to bring a saucer of tzatziki for $9.85 as an appetizer. Because of this and not to make fuss, we asked for bread to eat the tzatziki. It seems Mike and this restaurant are hungry to upsell customers. Despite all this, we paid our bill, gave a good tip and walked out without any other action from us. We dine out for good food and service. In this case, food was ok service was awful. I do not recommend this restaurant. Sam
