Dr. David Parente

Dr. Compeau is such an excellent and highly skilled surgeon. He is very caring, compassionate and has a great sense of humour. I just found out that he retired. I am very happy for him, but very sad that I can no longer be treated by him. Thank you.

I would like to share a few words about Dr. David N Parente , thoracic surgeon at St Joseph Hospital at the Queensway . Sometimes we do not realize , a kind word or a simple touch could have a major impact on others . So reassuring and takes the fear away . Dr. David Parente's kindness , compassion and empathy made me feel safe going into surgery. Hands down the most effective and efficient surgeon. I highly recommend this excellent surgeon . Bless up Dr David N Parente , you are truly a gift to humanity.

I had the lower, left lobe of my lung removed on August 25, 2018 by Dr. Compeau and he did a marvelous job. The pain was so minimal I did not require the morphine pump I was given. The incisions are so small I find it absolutely amazing that he could remove my cancerous baseball sized tumour. I think he is a phenomenal surgeon.

I wanted to write a review because Dr. David Parente was incredible when taking care of me recently. I had a terrible case of pleural effusion due to cancer rearing its ugly head again. Dr David Parente went above and beyond, fitting me in for appointments to get the care that I needed promptly - which is difficult in an era where the system is so overloaded and backed up. And even better, his technique in my treatment ensured that I had little to no discomfort where there usually otherwise would have been. His bedside manner is incredible and I had complete confidence in his knowledge and expertise. I never doubted his ability to do what is best for me. I also want to give kudos to his medical secretary, Gary, who was incredibly personable, easy to chat with and incredibly efficient at his job. In any case, I truly recommend Dr. David Parente and his team to anyone needing care in this field.
