I'm not sure where to even begin.....The location is beautiful, truly beautiful. However, they FAR over-promise & under-deliver & the winter price to stay, is very overpriced. Promised pastries in the morning, no pastries at all. When we complained we were told that our email said in lieu of pastries, we'd get 50% off breakfast at the bar/restaurant. We went over our emails with a fine-toothed comb. NO mention of 50% off breakfast. Snacks were supposed to be provided daily, we had to ask on the 3rd day. No hot tub & not even told that if you want to use the sauna, it has to be turned on an hr & a before you can use it. Bedding wasn't changed (there for 3 days.) The walkways to our cabins had a foot of snow all the way up to our decks. You knew 12 guests were coming & no one shoveled the walkways. 2 of our guests nearly fell, one being 76yrs old. The wood promised for fires; left outside & soaking wet. The fridge had 2 shelves because they made room for the keg we didn't buy. Barely any room for food. They didn't have much of the beer they advertised. The website says that the kitchen is open til 11pm, we walked over in 2ft of snow to order wings & other foods--kitchen was closed at 9pm. We had to buy 4x poutines that were so salty, they were inedible. The VCR in one of our cabins didn't work, & I saw that in another complaint from 4mths ago. The servers & the entertainment were phenomenal. We tipped them very well. Friendly, kind & caring! Sadly, not enough to justify spending that kind of money for a 50th birthday party weekend. Very disappointing. We only live an hour North, so we're well aware of the 'draw' the word "Muskoka" invokes. Lower the winter prices, fix your website, stop over-promising & under-delivering & maybe hire 1-2 people for winter help. We were told that 1 of them just flat out didn't show up. We might check it out in the summer, but we will definitely be watching the reviews to see if anything has changed. Feedback is crucial & people work hard for their money, especially considering how hard things are for people right now. Sad, because there's tonnes of potential....WELL over $2000++ just for the cabins (spent easily $800 at the restaurant/bar) and it was not money well spent. I look forward to hearing that there is a sincere effort to improve this resort. The beds/pillows were very comfortable & the cabins were beautiful. The couches?? Terrible! The springs are sticking out of them! Not comfortable at all.

Not worth the money. Not clean. Not a resort. Not a spa. They used to run hot tubs but don't any more. Don't bother lighting fires for guests. Also didn't give pastries like they committed to. All around a huge rip off. Thinking of registering a complaint with the better business bureau.

Booked a cabin in December 2022 to celebrate my anniversary in March 2023. At the time of booking, it was stated that there would be pastries delivered to our door the next morning during our stay. Unfortunately, there were no pastries delivered, and when we texted customer service, we were told that they were phasing out the pastries and instead offering half off on breakfast. However, customer service offered us a couple of free muffins. As well, the driveway was not plowed and it recently snowed, so when we were trying to park, our car was getting stuck. We also had a difficult time trying to find the cabin in the woods as nothing was plowed or shoveled, or even salted. The pathways in the woods were slippery and icy. Lastly, none of the saunas were turned on, so when we tried to use the sauna, it did not warm up enough to actually be used. It's disappointing that we were not able to use the amenities properly. On the positive side, the cabin was warm and cozy, and there were lot's of snacks and junk food in the room to enjoy. I wouldn't return for a trip in the winter time.

We booked this experience in December so we'd have something to look forward to for spring. We received a confirmation email at the time, but no follow up email leading up to the booking which was some 4 months later. When we arrived, everything appeared closed and we had to venture into the brewery to figure out where to check in. The original confirmation email had no instructions, and as mentioned, there was no follow up email. We checked in only to discover all of the amenities were closed for the season. When we went over our confirmation email with a fine toothed comb, there was NO mention of this whatsoever. It was even encouraged to "come early and enjoy the amenities". We had paid the same rate that my friend had paid the prior September when everything was open, so we were confused as to why there wasn't a discounted rate. When we looked into it further, the same weekend she had paid $350 per night to stay in September 2022 was now $600 for September 2023. The grounds are beautiful and the concept seems amazing. Unfortunately our experience was no so. We happened to be next to a cabin full of girls for a bachelorette party, and they too had no idea the amenities were closed, so we knew it wasn't our ignorance. It did say on the website that things were closed (when we also went over that in detail), but there was no warning throughout the booking process to tell us). So unless you read the entire website (which we did not because we had been there before and were familiar with the concept), you'd never know. I'm not sure why hot tubs cannot stay open in the winter, but beware if you're booking in the "off season" (although they also don't have any information as to what the off season actually is).
