Staff was super friendly, the place is very nice but the food is so expensive.. $18-$36 for breakfast?? We paid and ate thinking there would be more to do but there wasnt literally just a breakfast place in April I guess? Disappointed. We were looking forward to a full day of fun but there was nothing to do there.

Renovated modern shack inside the Richelieu park Vanier. Managed by the Parc Museo. They have interior space as well as modern yo-yo date equipments to produce maple syrup on site. They also host annual sugar shack for the community during March as well as offer educational events for schools. Contact museo for opening hours as this is not a business open everyday

A visit to the grounds of the Vanier Museopark is a great way to learn and experience an iconic part of Canadian history and culture, maple syrup. The 17.5 acre forested maple sugar groove provides maple sap during the spring. The sap is tapped and harvested to be boiled/ evaporated into a concentrated tasty maple syrup. At this location there has been a Sugar Shack since 1939. The most recent Shack burnt down in August 2020 and currently there are plans to rebuild it once again (scheduled fall 2022) Once built, we can come back to have some delicious maple syrup on pancakes, or syrup on a stick once again. Fun facts * Maple Sap is a colorless liquid and about 2% sugar * Sugar tapping season lasts for about 6 to 8 weeks * Sap is boiled at 212F to make maple syrup * It takes about 40 gallons of maple sap to make 1 gallon of maple syrup.
