My experience with BLS Ottawa had been excellent so far. The staff behave politely and friendly. However, I have a feedback about a common error each one of us makes when we apply for Surrender certificate. Most of us might have moved from a different jurisdiction. When we complete the online application, we would not notice that we filled the application for a different jurisdiction. This is because we all have a login already created for, say, passport renewal at a different jurisdiction. Everyone, please check the header of the application form and make sure it is Ottawa jurisdiction. We need to create a new account specific to the Ottawa jurisdiction. We would be turned away to go back again. I have done the same mistake and 90% of the applicants do this mistake. I got lucky that I got enough time to fill the right form and didnot have to go back. But it is a huge inconvenience for people coming from far away. BLS/High commission/Indian consulate: please add this to the common errors list and put that somewhere such that the applicants would be notified while completing the application. Otherwise, it just wastes our time as well as your time. Thanks!

I recently visited the center to get my passport renewed. Everything was pretty quick and smooth. The staff is super helpful and polite. I opted for a walk-in and to my surprise I was in and out within 15 minutes.

I was charged for the notifications service and never received a single mail or text. You have no right to waste my money and adding an additional service without my confirmation.
