VuReal is a top-notch Waterloo region tech company, pushing the boundaries of the possible. I would suggest them de-register from the Google reviews system. It is designed for retail services industries and hard help professional services companies. Besides anyone can place a bad review to pursue some sort of compensation. Not helpful.

8 month Co-op mechanical / mechatronics designer. Vuereal provided an environment where I was able to explore new technologies, develop skills, and expand my capabilities beyond my imagination. I am grateful to have worked with highly technical people who at the core are deeply driven by innovation, and carrying a growth-mindset.

Great learning environment. There is plenty of opportunity to learn and connect with the friendly team and management. As my first co-op term, I felt like I was always welcome to ask questions, ask for help, and to reach out whenever I was burdened. Working at this company gave me the opportunity to expand my experience, connections, and healthy workplace relationships. Although there were times where busy schedules and deadlines had to be met, resulting in long work hours or coming into the office on weekends, this mostly gave me more opportunity to learn.

I have heard what has gone on inside this company. You work your engineers too hard. You do not pay them fair or competitive wages for the hours they work. Project management is a disaster, to the point where expected completion time of milestones were earlier than the expected lead times for the project itself. The business is no longer a start up company (the business was a few years old, and had contracts with other companies, therefore making it not a start up) yet was treating each employee as a founder (ie demanding that more hours were worked than were getting played for). A coop student was harassed for not completing a project that was not a priority. The student was given about 20 minutes notice to finish 2 hours worth of work before a meeting was held about that specific project where results were expected. As a result, the student was taken to a meeting room and verbally abused. The whole environment at VueReal is toxic and abusive. No wonder a lot of employees jumped ship at the first opportunity, as it was virtually impossible to not find something better. 1 star.
