Our family doctor is Dr. Tan and he is an excellent doctor, he listening all their patient's needs, and he is polite and professional which we respect and trust. The clinic should fix the website bookings. The patients cant book their appointments on the website, because the website doesn't allow you to finish the booking process.

*Please note that this review is about the office manager at South Kitchener Family Medicine, and is NOT reflective of the doctors or other staff at SKFM, who are wonderful. We are very fortunate to have found our family doctor, Dr. Keri Delaney- who is thorough, caring, and professional. On January 16 at 3:46 pm, I witnessed the office manager at South Kitchener Family Medicine - bullying two patients. A young father had been standing in line for about five minutes with his infant daughter (approximately 1.5 years old). The office manager brusquely asked for name and health card, and promptly informed the dad that unless he paid $60 on the spot for being 10 minutes late to the appointment, his daughter would not be seen by the doctor (it should be noted that the office was not busy at the time). The man explained that he had just struggled through traffic all the way from Guelph with his baby, that his appointment was for 3:30 and that he had been waiting for at least five minutes for the receptionist. The office manager answered sharply that he hadnt "been waiting that long", and reiterated indifferently that his baby would not be seen if he didnt pay up. The dad explained that this wasnt fair, and the family shouldnt have to pay $60. The office manager said "in that case, the baby will not be seen by her doctor today." Standing there, with my jaw on the floor, I started to say something, when another receptionist intervened: The baby must be seen- she has a rash on her back and is BLEEDING. To which, the office manaager went to the back to confer with a doctor, and returned saying that the baby could be seen, but there is now a charge of $30 on the familys file! In the meantime, I spoke with the dad and said out loud that he could go to a walk-in clinic, and also that he could write a review about this terrible experience. Out loud, I made it clear that when we are waiting for our doctors for 15 minutes, half an hour- or longer, its not our policy to charge our doctor a fee! Our time is valuable, too! This is not the first time I have witnessed snippy or downright power-trippy treatment at the hands of two receptionists at this office. In Health Care, we know that patients are already coming to us in a vulnerable state- the practice of fining hard-working people who are already vulnerable has to STOP (which I also said out loud). And by the way, SKSM, your elevator takes forever. How much should we cover you for that? Let us guess- you are not responsible for the elevator speed. Well, patients are not responsible for traffic, for a shortage of parking spaces close to the building, or for stopping to help someone in need on the way to your office! I am livid at the treatment of this family, and embarrassed for SKFM.
