Precious Beginnings Childrens Centre

I had my 18 month old here while it was under old management (prior to Songbirds ownership) from Nov 2021 and about 4 months thereafter. Management was horrible with communication. I'd even say abysmal. I really liked Mrs Lort (Lourdes?) though. I feel that she did an exceptional job helping my LO transition to daycare life. And she was the only reason we kept our LO there as long as we did. It was a teary goodbye on our last day, so you know she had a strong connection with my LO. Other than that, there was one occasion in February 2021 where my LO was dressed for pickup and being walked to the door BEFORE I even arrived - meaning there was a case of mistaken identity and someone could have conceivably given my LO away to a stranger. Luckily I happened to arrive just at that moment for the pickup. I never did get a satisfactory explanation I also witnessed an incident of an outraged man yelling at one of the staff here (February 2021) - possibly Claire, the supervisor? He was fuming and said he found his daughter wandering in the parking lot unattended moments prior. Yikes!

Great daycare. They need to do better on their administrative side

This daycare is not professional. There have been several cases of children getting injured inside and outside the classrooms. They also claim they have video surveillance yet refuse to show it to parents when there are incidents. Also, the Montessori learning here is rudimentary - the instructor doesn't even speak English properly (no thank you).
