Ive been going to the Vaughan Skilled trades college for the plumbing program and Im six weeks in. Im really liking it so far, most of the time youre in the shop doing hands on work. During the plumbing course youd be working with copper pipe, cast iron pipe, and ABS. Staff are friendly and my teacher Frank pera who teaches the full time plumbing program will take the time with you and explain to you. Hes a great teacher and a great guy. I would really recommend this school if youre looking to learn the trade and get familiar with your tools and environment.

Best school ive ever attended. Learning life skills in a collaborative and hands-on environment with appropriate focus on safety. Teachers are extremely kind, patient, and knowledgeable (Paul & Jeff - thank you for making learning fun & fulfilling). Great co-workers. Wish id done this sooner in life.

I attended the electrical program as a mature female student with Joe P as my teacher. I also am hearing impaired and worried about limitations. The school did not offer any accessibility aids for the visually or hearing impaired students, unfortunately. I downloaded an app to use on my phone and laptop to have voice to text while in class and had to rely on peers in the lab. It's a condensed program of 10 weeks of learning (theory and lab) to have 4 days of exams. Very aggressive learning pace and we didnt get taught all the labs and material in the book we were given. If you might miss a week, wait to do the next program as it was impossible to get caught up!!. I really liked the staff here and Joe P I will never forget. He was a fair and honest teacher that always made me smile and laugh. He kept it real. FYI- I hadn't done bedmas in 33 years! NM the periodoc table lol. I hired a tutor to give me a refresh as both you're expected to remember/understand and be tested on. I would recommend this school as the people that work there don't just do their jobs for a paycheck. Glen, Anna, and Joe P I spoke with many times, and all 3 went above and beyond if you needed help. I really enjoyed my time there

I've been going here now for 6 weeks, so I'm half way through my course at this point. I can very confidently say that this program is no joke. You get alot of hands in time to learn and profect your techniques and the teachers are extremely knowledgeable. They are also great at actually teaching you the material. If I could give more starts I would. 10/10 this is a great college amd the 309 electrical pre apprenticeship program is great. I highly recommend it.

STC can be overwhelming like any new experience but that feeling will go away in the first week. Dont be afraid or act too cool to talk to your classmates, thatll ease things up and make you more comfortable. Im enrolled in the plumbing course, Its fast pace but our teacher Frank makes sure youre not behind. Everyday youre learning and in shop roughing in variety of pipes. Frank runs his class like a live job site, so come on time, be respectful and try not to miss any days. Youre paying 12 bands so make use of it, this is an investment towards your future. Always have confidence, make ur mistakes here and learn from it and youll be Gucci! Oh and watch out for Driz lol
