The Hideout

We stayed in the cottage and loved it! It was one the best accommodation I've ever stayed in. It was so cozy and relaxing-- you can tell the owners have put their utmost care, attention and love into the home. Would definitely come back!!

I stayed in the cottage, which is a clean, beautiful and peaceful space. Lots of attention to detail, like the small vases of wildflowers that waited for me when I arrived. Joshua and Trevor gave me the privacy I needed, though when I had questions they were very responsive and a pleasure to talk with. The setting is bucolic, the pond lovely to walk around. I'll be back for sure.

The Hideout was the perfect place for a writing residency in 2021. Trevor and Joshua have created a little oasis, and the cottage fit my every need. It has a beautiful little kitchen, an adorable desk, and plenty of different places for me to sit and write when I needed a change of scenery. I had my morning tea on the porch. I listened to records. I was able to pull away from social media a bit. The little cottage came equipped with just what I needed! Writing (and creative things) are hard to build into the everyday routine, and I am SO grateful to the Hideout for offering a gorgeous place to focus on a writing project I would never have been able to focus on otherwise. It is a gorgeous place not only for a writing retreat, but for a romantic getaway, for a weekend of solitude, as a jumping point for exploring Victoria-By-The-Sea or Borden-Carleton or even the rest of PEI. I will definitely be back!

I had a wonderful time during my one week writing residency at The Hideout. Joshua and Trevor were amazing hosts. The cottage was calm, quiet, and 100% private. The property is beautiful. I'll definitely be back and I highly recommend.
