I took our 2015 Mitsubishi RVR into the dealer to get a diagnosis for the ABS error light that was on the dash. They found out what was wrong and called to say how much it would cost to fix. I was not interested in putting that much money into a car of its value and decided to just pick it up from the dealer and drive it as is. When I went to pay for this diagnosis I expected it to be maybe 50 or $100 as that seems fairly standard from past experience at other garages. Instead they tried to charge me over $500 just to look at the problem. No work was done no new parts. Just plugging their scanner in to see what was wrong. Their explanation was well it took almost 4 hours and its not covered under warranty. As well when dropping it off the person at the desk said multiple time they will call if something major comes up, I dont know about you but to me 500$ for an inspection is pretty major. So as any sane person would do I said I will not being paying that much money, just to have the car diagnosed. The person at the desk said she would go talk to her manager and came back with a new bill of $130 and said they adjusted the labour hours for me. That is great and all but the fact that if I was someone who did not feel comfortable questioning their pricing (ie my girlfriend the owner of the car) I would have spent $400 more than if I simply asked how is this possible. To me this is appalling and I feel sorry for everyone who has taken their Mitsubishi that is out of warranty here and got taken advantage of like this. I will never take my car back to this dealer and never recommend this dealer to anyone.
