The Bookman

I am from Montreal and am an avid reader and I was very excited to visit this specific bookstore. Unfortunetely, I was disapointed. I understand shop owners have to make their income but the prices for these used books are far from being reasonable. They are priced with the same original price printed on the back with the SKU bar (so regular price) and for those who have more wear are lightly discounted - and that goes for regular books, not older or rarer editions.

Great place to hunt for anything! Found a lot of good books on home design and left with more than enough to carry. Owner was very friendly and prices were very fair!

Very overpriced used books I think they are capitalizing on the fact that they are downtown charlottetown.

I was visiting PEI and this bookstore caught my attention. I went in and had one of the coolest experiences a reader can have. When I walked in the store, the woman (sorry didnt get your name!) asked me what I was looking for; I proceeded to tell her I was going through the worst book slump and I simply wanted my mind blown. She laughed then asked me a few questions, then she said the owner would have a better idea so SHE CALLED HIM AND PUT ME ON THE PHONEthe man was incredibly nice, asked me questions, I loved that they took me serious and understood exactly what I needed. He recommended 3 amazing books, then she literally closed the door to the store so she could go downstairs to find one of the books that she couldnt find. Needless to say, I will make it a tradition to buy a book here every time I visit PEI and will be recommending it to everyone!!!
