La Rose Bistro

One of the best meals that Ive ever had on PEI, and Im a local! I had the salmon, it was perfectly cooked with a nice crisp finish. The overall dish was so flavourful with a variety of in-season veggies. My boyfriend had the scallop fettuccine and said it was the best pasta dish hes ever had. To drink, I enjoyed the blueberry lavender lemonade so much that I ordered two! This restaurant is officially on our summer bucket list, cant wait for next season.

The food was excellent and would rank as "fine dining". The atmosphere was not quite so good, as the restaurant interior is spartan with uncovered laminate tables and steel chairs. However, I think we did well and probably had one of the best meals around in the Cavendish area. We had excellent salmon and crab cakes for appetizers and wonderful and generous seared scallops on a 1/4 roasted corn cob atop a bed of risotto. Both were excellent, tasty, hot, well prepared, and nicely presented. They have a small outdoor patio out front, which was nice, with a musician playing live. However, the music was too loud on the patio (just right where we dined inside). I would highly recommend and would return. Side note - no washroom on site - you need to walk to an adjacent building where washrooms shared amongst multiple businesses are located. This was grumbled about by several patrons. Good thing it wasn't raining!
