This is one of the most unique restaurants on PEI. It's unique for a number of reasons. Almost of the food comes directly from the owner/operators farm (can't get fresher than that) , the food is freshly prepared with a very strong Irish influence - it's Irish food. The setting of this restaurant is like my Irish grandmother's kitchen - homie and magical. But more than the food, the preparation, the setting is the owner (Caroline - I think is her name) This Irish dynamo is the greatest feature of Home Plate! She is the chief cook and bottle washer of Home Plate. She is fisty, engaging, enthusiastic, and charming. We had just an absolutely wonderful experience dinning at Home Plate, it is as the name suggest - like being in your mother's kitchen enjoying a meal only your mother could make and eating from your Home Plate!
