Summerside Inn Bed and Breakfast

The Summerside Inn was the perfect place to stay on PEI. The house is beautiful, with its Victorian wooden staircases, doors, and working wood fireplaces. We walked 6 miles every morning, exploring the stately houses and buildings of Summerside, and there are good restaurants within easy walking distance. The house was so quiet, as was our room - and our room was bright, cheery and very comfortable. By far the best part of Summerside Inn is Mary Ann. She is so warm and welcoming, and an outstanding cook - and we loved chatting with her! We didn't want to leave!

I stayed here when hiking the Confederation Trail tip to tip in 2017. While better suited for cyclists, the trail is a good challenge for runners or hikers. Walkers must cover 30 to 40 kilometres a day to reach areas where there are campsites, B&Bs, and hotels. There are no places to pitch a tent on the trail itself and most information about the trail is geared for cyclists. That said, its a beauty at the top of summer. I walked from Tignish to Charlottetown then Elmira back to Charlottetown. I experienced some foot problems when I reached Summerside and stayed at this B&B for four days or so. I really enjoyed the rest, quiet breakfasts, and comfy beds. Theres a great ice cream parlour nearby and a cafe equally as good. The service and amenities were excellent and I would recommend this spot to anyone.
