Bayside Cottages—Perfect location for everything

Worst place we have ever stayed! The website showed cute cottages but that was NOT the case. It was rundown and shabby and not very clean. The deck was rotting and falling off the cottage, had to pull tall weeds to access the deck. The tub was so gross and had mold all around it that we didn't feel comfortable using it. Beds were uncomfortable and kitchen had minimal items to use. We asked for a refund for our 2nd night but were flatly told no refund but we ended up leaving anyway and sucking up the cost.

Completely misleading website, the cottages are run down, disgusting bathrooms, and no maintenance performed this century. They claim they are a "Canada Select" approved property but can't find them listed on the website. It was so bad we left after one night even though we prepaid for 2 nights. Owner was unwilling to do anything for us and appeared to not really care about our concerns. STAY AWAY!

Dear owner: Things to do before asking $200/Night: Fix the leaking roof, remove mould, change the windows and level the floor, etc. Your cottage is way below standards used for safe habitation. No number of 5/5 reviews would change that.

We stayed here August 14th -18th in Cottage 8 and booked through Airbnb. I do have to say the pictures are very deceiving and not representing their current state. The cottages themselves are in need of updating, beds in the rooms are likened to a rollaway bed I slept on when I was 10. The rooms were very hot as there was no AC, or even ceiling fans, however we were given desk fans in the rooms (one of which were broken). Coffee maker was broken, and the fridge was filthy, (with ear wigs in it) upon check in. The property was littered with crab apples, which made it hard for my elderly mother in law to travel in the yard. No bang for the buck here. Seems the owner does not know how to run a cottage. Note: I left a review prior to this one which was disputed by the owner as my name was not on the reservation and deleted. I 100% stayed here, the reservation was in my girlfriends name. You need to do better Phil.

My wife and I stayed here June 2022 for a few weeks. Its was excellent. The property had obviously undergone some recent renovations. Location is really good, right on the water, with free kayaks available. Bill, the owner was always available and extremely helpful. We would love to stay here again.
