Not a big deal but the store is in Lascelles not Alcove. Lascelles was established back in 1845 and at its height had a cheese factory, a blacksmithing forge, this general store, church and a school. The brick church we see there today was built from 1906 to 1910. Lascelles includes Lac Bernard and Lac Johnston.

This place is Rockin'! Definitely worth the short trip from Wakefield. 15 minutes thereabouts. It's an authentic country store, "old school". Lol, there is even a checker board poised and ready for the next game, on the lunch table. There is a kitchen menu board that will surprise you, as it does me. "Enjoyment" of their Great sandwiches, is my endorsement, although there are other options. Totes Yummy! In the store, Such a variety of stock and well displayed, You'll find hand crafted gifts, that are locally made and really nice. Animal feeds, bird seed. An extensive supply of eco friendly cleaning supplies too. Beer, wine, all the good stuff. Be careful driving up! There are three chickens and three ducks and at least one cat (expecting) and a friendly dog named Gary, roaming around the parking lot. It's a pleasant gathering place for the folks all around.
