I was very disappointed by my experience with Dr. Vachon. I went to see him because I have high cholesterol. Almost as soon as I walked into his office, he started writing a prescription for statins. When I asked if we could first do more advanced tests (advanced blood work- Lp(a), heart scan, etc.) to see if I actually have heart disease (and not just hight cholesterol), he refused. There's a push around the world for doctors to do more advanced blood work before prescribing statins. It's not a given that high cholesterol equals heart disease. Clearly, this doctor hasn't received that memo yet. I will not see him again.
