I recently purchased an additional wireless smoke detector and motion detector from GMS for my garage. I was told by the receptionist that these items can be connected to my surveillance system by phone. During the phone call, I spoke with a technician who gave me several codes to enter into the keypad from the company, none of which worked. He explained that I should see something, but nothing happened. He thought my keypad had a screen, which surprised me since a GMS technician was here on February 16 updating the system and reprogramming the keypad (and therefore he saw it and knew what model it was). So I sent him an image of my keypad because it does not seem to be on file with the company. The technician I spoke to believes it is not programmed properly and a house visit is needed, which will cost more money. I will not pay twice to have another technician come and program a keypad again when it does not seem to have been done correctly the first time. Anyone considering this company for its surveillance system should seriously consider the numerous frustrations that emerge as the company charges you for repeated service calls (yes, some are warranted, while others are clearly not). EDIT: After receiving an email from GMS characterizing my comments as hatred and condescension, I received a bill charging me $52 for the ten-minute phone call with the technician (I agreed to pay for the devices), GMS claims that the technician had to search documents before the call for my particular needs, resulting in that service fee ($25 per fifteen minutes), but he was not able to help and the devices were not connected. GMS could not figure out the programming codes needed for a system and devices I purchased from them, and yet the managers response puts the blame squarely on me. At their service rates, it would likely cost a lot more for them to program two devices. I find they are not transparent at all with their service fees and the real costs. I stand by my previous comments. I do not recommend this company at all. And I dont appreciate the manipulative, condescending attitude from the manager who responded, who in an email to me wanted to come to my house to discuss the situation, which I find highly unusual and inappropriate.

I hired GMS to install security cameras. I requested cameras with night vision - which I did not get - they are extremely unclear at night. Their installers were negligent, left a ladder that's 3 floors high unattended - the wind blew it off the building and it caused major damages to my eavesdrop which GMS refuses to replace regardless that they are 100% at fault. Their equipment is their responsibility and they should have acted in a professional and respectful way - by putting their tools away to minimize the potential danger as well as damages it could cause. They are lucky it didn't fall on children playing in the backyard or a car as people are always using the backyard. They quoted me for two days of work for the installation which they respected but once it came to light that they had damaged my property, it is my belief that they maliciously made up false charges to cover themselves from having to be responsible for their negligent behaviour. They said it was for additional hours worked but they had already quoted me for the labor, the installation, the cameras and the additional materials they needed. They wanted 50% more than their original quote, and their excuse was that it was a windy day which made their work harder. When I disagreed with the additional charges, they began to bully and harass me. I wouldn't do business with them again if my life depended on it. They are unreliable, conduct their work in unsafe manners, are extremely disrespectful and arrogant, they will not take responsibility for their mistakes and will under quote the work to trap you into paying more later. This experience was absolutely the worst experience I've ever had dealing with any company in my 36 years of doing business.
