Thai Express Aylmer

I recently visited Thai Express with high expectations, given my positive experiences at their other locations. However, my visit to this particular branch left me thoroughly disappointed. As an avid food enthusiast, I decided to try their Pad Thai and General Thai dishes, hoping for a delightful culinary experience. Unfortunately, what awaited me was far from satisfactory. Starting with the General Thai, I immediately noticed a distinct lack of freshness in the chicken. It appeared over-fried and had a stale taste, overpowering the dish with an excessive amount of oil and an overcooked flavor. Even the simplest element of the meal, the rice, was disappointingly hard and poorly cooked, leaving me to wonder if it had been sitting out for too long or prepared in advance. Moving on to the Pad Thai, I found it to be lacking in both taste and quality. In fact, it felt as though I could have obtained a superior version by simply purchasing a premade meal from a local grocery store. The flavors were underwhelming and failed to capture the authentic essence of this beloved Thai dish. Beyond the disappointing food, the overall ambience of Thai Express was equally lackluster. The atmosphere felt dry and devoid of any welcoming elements, such as music or an inviting decor. Additionally, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was inconveniencing the restaurant's employees with my order, as their demeanor seemed disinterested and detached. All in all, I regretfully cannot recommend Thai Express based on my experience. The subpar quality of the food, combined with the lack of a pleasant dining atmosphere, left me thoroughly dissatisfied. I had hoped for an exceptional culinary adventure, but instead, I found myself longing for the standards set by their other locations. Hopefully, Thai Express will take this feedback constructively and strive to improve their offerings and service in the future. Vegetarian options: Terrible

My pinnaple general tao was horrendus. Not crunchy, plain, chicken quality is mediocre. My girlfriend curry had grey eggplant in it for some reason. Hard for me to not finish a meal but this place is terrible. AVOID

Food is great, better than another thai place I tried in Ottawa. I loved how I got to see the flames when they were making the food. I also loved that I didn't even need to wait 2 minutes and my order was ready. Don't let the bad reviews fool you, this place is great.

Although their sign says they close at 9, I was told that they were closing in 5 minutes at 8:40 p.m. while I was in the middle of eating my meal. I pointed out to the gentleman that their sign says they close at 9 pm, and he informed me that they close at 8:45 pm for cleaning. I wonder if corporate is aware.
