I found the communication of this school very bad. I wanted my 5 years old to receive clases so I paid for one month $129 for 30 mins class once a week. Also they charged $40 one time fee. By the end of the third class I was told that For the second month the teacher was going to be absent, they thought for the whole month, and they didn't know if he was going to be replaced. Just like that. We were never told about replacement classes, or any other communication. Then they sent an email when two classes already passed asking to pay for the invoice of the second month and I told them how come? Then they said that classes were going on and that the teacher was going to be absent only one day and all students were informed about the replacement class which they had already taken. Except us! The day I was told the teacher was going to be absent without a backup plan I went home with a bad test thinking that for the whole month my son wouldn't have classes, so i wasn't even expecting them to call. But the thing is classes were going on and they were expecting us to pay for the invoice by default. For the third month they told me they didn't have his place because we didn't pay the invoice for the last month! Good to mention we didn't receive any class either. They just offered spots during the week that my son wasn't able to attend. The communication is horrible and looks like is written just to invoice you. For the rest it is just verbal and not to everyone. I ended by paying $169 for a month for my son to get 4 clases of even less than 30min a week. Now I will have to find another place where most probably I will have to pay for another one time fee + the classes. I wouldn't recommend this place. What a bad taste.

I have been taking lessons for over a year now at the school and Julia and her staff have been amazing. Very attentive to our needs, very professionnel and extremely knowledgeable in regards to reading and playing music. Thank you for making a good violinist out of me!

I taught music here for several years and would not recommend it. Also the administration never did a background check on me, or asked to see my diploma, unlike what they claim in the response to one of the other reviews. EDIT (2022-03-10) Some time after I posted this review in 2020, someone from the school contacted/harassed me through facebook. They told me that I had lied about teaching at the school and urged me to take this review down. I think that this person knew, deep down, that I was not lying; had they truly believed I was some random person making false claims, surely they wouldn't have thought there was any point in asking me to take it down? It was, as the kids say, "a lot."

I have been a teacher at this school for 6 years, and my children are studying in this school. I can say with confidence that EQM successfully implements its main task, which is professional, competent, and the most complete musical and aesthetic education of their students. The teaching staff is qualified specialists with professional education. Curriculum and educational plans are flexible and meet any requirement and abilities for all the students: from a music enthusiast to those wishing to learn according to strict classical program and take exams at the RCM. Teachers use the most advanced educational techniques of Canada, USA, Russia, France, Germany, England, etc. and offer the student the most suitable methods. The end of each year school hosts a big concert. Which is always flawlessly organized and held in the large concert hall, where parents and family can come and see their children perform. In addition, the administration organizes annual competitions within the walls of the school, in which every student can take part. Based on the results of the competition, participants receive certificates and awards. The best performing students are awarded with cash prizes that they can redeem for future education at the school. Concerts and competitions are a strong stimulus in learning, which maintains interest and students' commitment to music education. Administration and teachers keep close contact with students parents and family, which provides a valuable and instant feedback from both sides, and increases interest and participation of students. Each classroom is equipped with excellent music instruments and the school has a very large store of educative materials, which facilitates the work of teachers and brings the education to a professional level. Scheduling of courses is flexible enough to accommodate students availabilities, which demonstrates good management and structure of the educational process. The school has well managed financial policy: accounting, tuition fees and makeup classes are all taken into consideration, there are no unresolved questions. The school administration is doing its best to create a favourable environment for the team while maintaining a high professional level.
