When I started at Lasalle Music Academy, I said that I wanted a one hour lesson each week. The owner and my future teacher, Louie, said, "What for?" I said that I wanted to keep getting better, and I was taking an hour lesson at my previous school. "Let's start with 45 minutes. Why pay for an hour when all you might need is 45 minutes. I'll tell you if I need an hour." I was shocked that someone would encourage a customer to get a less expensive, shorter lesson. I thought to myself, "Ok, we'll do the 45-minute lesson and then I'll up it to an hour when he sees I need more time. This was actually my first and most important lesson, which was Louie knows best. It was absolutely unbelievable how much Louie crams into one 45-minute lesson. The man is an absolute machine. He doesnt stop. In the span of our short lesson, we did the following: 1. Reviewed last weeks homework with feedback and corrections. 2. I learned the A major scale in the open position to work on melody. 3. Played "Let It Be" with chords and melody together. 4. I worked on sight reading music because before I started with Louie, I couldn't read a note to save my life. Tabs were both my best friend and my biggest crutch. 5. I learned a new chord progression in the key of D major with a new E minor chord (at least it was new to me). 6. We had a chat about life and how I was doing with work and keeping up with practising. We did all of that in 45 minutes! The amount that I've improved since November of 2022 has been noticeable to anyone who has ever heard me play. I feel pretty fortunate to be a student at Lasalle Music Academy, and I can't imagine going to any other teacher after Louie.

My daughter and I take lessons at the Academie, and we're really happy with our experience there. Louie is a great teacher he's professional, funny and kind and my daughter loves her lessons with him. Highly recommended!

Over the summer, I took one-on-one singing lessons with Louie. He really helped me develop a sense of whats truly important not only as a singer but as a musician too highly recommend attending this school. The teachers that Louie hires (and trusts) are doing their best to gain experience and teach their students. I was a student at the Vanier music program So, I hope what I say is fairly reliable. :)
