        The store owner helped me translate the warning label on a pack of cigarettes since it was written in Arabic. His translation into french (my native tongue) was rather crude but in good faith. The same could not be said for, what I assumed to be, his wife who kept whispering nervously into hi ear while staring at me, making no effort to engage with me. The price of the green bell peppers was mindbogglingly low. The price tags of the various spices were also lower than the supermarket average. Still, I left the store empty handed. They did not respond to my regards as I left the store.
