This lawyer took on a case for my grandmother at the TAL and took advantage of her because she is elderly. The case was clearly open and shut, the landlord was not within his rights to request what he was requesting and the information provided by the lawyer could have been gotten for free by calling the TAL service line. He instead told my grandmother she needed to take and print out photos for her case and had her worried she would end up evicted. They arrived at the TAL and the judge threw out the case. This man then billed her over 600$ and then told her he asked the TAL to reimburse her legal fees (which will not happen). She is out the money and had we known she was in this situation we would have done this without the bill.

(Translated by Google) In my opinion, this is just another lawyer trying to take advantage of people in crisis. He represented my grandmother today and spent a total of 10 minutes before the judge who did not even let Me Landry speak because the case was dismissed on the grounds that there was no reason for that in the first place. I don't quite understand how this man justifies charging 225/hr*4=$900 to an elderly lady who should have been advised from the start that she had nothing to worry about and that the deal would be done before she doesn't start. This is deplorable behavior and an obvious profit from the elderly who are afraid and do not know their rights. Your "expenses" add up to nearly 10 years of rent increases that this lady was fighting against in the first place. you should be ashamed of yourself and your abuse of your position as an officer of the law. * When I asked Me Landry to explain to me the hours he had billed, he turned around quickly, saying "I don't have to hear that from you" and left the courthouse. Deplorable! Dplorable !

(Translated by Google) I went to consult Me Landry because my tenants, who had accepted the repossession for July 1, 2018 by signing the document from the management and confirming it in a letter addressed to me, decided at the end of May to no longer leave! According to Me Landry, I had no chance of winning because I was co-owner with someone who was not my spouse and according to article 1958, I could not take over the accommodation even if they had freely accepted to leave on June 30. I finally decided to represent myself at the board rather than pay because I didn't feel it was worth it. I finally went to the management and the manager agreed with me since by accepting the takeover, the tenants agreed to terminate the lease and allow me to stay there from July 1st. It cost me $225 (for 1 hour) even though I only stayed 45 min during the consultation + $372 to "draft" a letter that I didn't even send even though I I had said that it would cost $300 for the letter and the sending by bailiff! I want to believe that there was a modification following a phone call but it still cost me $372 without sending it by bailiff!! I am happy to have stopped the mandate before the invoice reached 4 figures!
