A small family owns this dep. Late at night, a young woman works the counter and always jumps up to greet customers when they come in. In the warmer months, they set up a table and chairs. Regulars will come and sip coffee, eat snacks, and smoke cigarettes while enjoying the weather. A teacher, a solder, a construction worker. All having lived full lives. Sometimes, one of the owners (A joyful, headstrong woman) will give one a free coffee or pastry and chat with them. When I think about what Montreal means to me, I think of this depanneur. Also, since inflation kicked off, all the items are much cheaper than what you find in the metro near by. They have a small cart of half off snacks that I often peruse.
