Pre-ordered a room with 2 queens well in advance (more than 4 months in advance). When we arrived we were asked if we really needed 2 beds...we answered yes. Unfortunately the staff said that they overbooked and no longer had any rooms with 2 beds available. The best they could offer was a King with a pull-out bed in the couch. After a long 13 hrs flight, this was not ideal (especially booking so far in advance and the fairly high price paid for the hotel). We had no other choice but to take the room with the pull-out. We asked if we could be compensated for this MAJOR inconvenience. Their reply was that they could not refund anything unless we completely cancelled the booking. The best they could give us was a free breakfast. This was pointless, as we were only staying until 7am the next day, and by that time breakfast would not be open. When we finally got to the room, there was another major disappointment as the room does not look at all how it does online in the photos. The rooms are very very outdated. Small TVs. Outdated cables for laptops. An old Ipod Touch charging dock. The balcony was dirty with floors barely having any paint left on them, and previous customers names all carved into the balcony railing. Barely any toiletries were given. Before going up to our room the man at the front desk offered to have the pull out couch made up into a bed. We said yes. Ultimately this never happened. After waiting a couple hours, we called front desk to have the bed made up. They sent up 2 guys that had no idea what was to be done. When we told them that we needed pillows and blankets for the bed, they only returned with a couple sheets and a fleece blankets full of white hard stains on it. No pillows were brought up. Needless to say for the price and reputation of this hotel in the middle of downtown Montreal, the Delta Marriott should NOT be a consideration to stay at. Would have honestly had a better and way cheaper stay at a Holiday Inn.
