Amazing place!! First of all, the plating is beautiful! I believe the pictures will tell. Second, the dishes are simply DELICIOUS. The makis are flavor bombs of rich and layered taste. The garnishes really bring the flavor profile to another level. The Katsu pok is a delightful surprise too. More specifically, I never imagined chicken katsu could go so well with red pepper. Cannot wait to try more dishes from Edo!

As soon as I saw that an Izakaya opened up in my neighbourhood I was planning to try it out! Then I saw the reviews and was so very happy. Went in, ordered the shrimp tempura, the karage, takoyaki, miso soup, sake sahimi and dragon eye as well as two cocktails. My question is when did all these people with 5 star reviews visit? Certaintly wasnt my experience. The food was extremely average, which is suprising for such staple dishes. I might give it another shot but as of now I wouldt recommend it.

(Translated by Google) A little pearl hidden in a quiet corner. Several good choices possible in the Pok bowl, sushi, soup or other stuff that we know less. Glad to have discovered this restaurant. (Original) Une petite perle cache dans un coin tranquille. Plusieurs bons choix possibles dans les Pok bol, sushi, soupe ou autres trucs qu'on connait moins. Content d'avoir dcouvert ce resto.

Another fake Japanese sushi restaurant in Montreal with FAKE POSITIVE 5STAR REVIEWS, that use subpar ingredients alongside a weird combinations of toppings on bad rice. This is far from a Izakaya and calling such a thing is simply a lie. Sides are just strange and inauthentic, and taste like old defrosted fish covered in mayo and bulldog sauce. I guess the owners or chefs think putting kewpie on everything makes it Japanese. Not to mention their weird donburi-style bowls topped with dry mystery meats and shredded carrots (?) lol. Also such a waste of a space in the Jean-Talon market. How many bad sushi restaurants does this city need? Villeray / Little Italy are in need of cheap eats that actually taste good, not some overpriced garbage that will give you food poisoning like the JT market Chteau Kebab (good riddance / RIP). Hope this joint shuts down fast and something half decent replaces it. OK POKE the restaurant that was there before was ironically just OK, but at least it wasnt some ploy to make money off fooling clueless tourists into thinking theyre eating real sushi. Lol
