I had a mixed experience working with Eva and her team. On the one hand, the service was punctual and the in-person experience was strong. On the other hand, there was a serious mistake made in the closing documents which she said was initially a mistake on her end for 'reading the document too quickly' and then later, upon refusing any sort of reduction in service fees, said that it was 'me and my brokers fault for not catching it'. The issue was as follows: during the in person signing I was told that that the file was 'complete and legally binding', only to be called weeks later and told there was an adjustment of ~13k less for me after I had already taken actions with my finances aligned with my file being closed. I've since spoken to other brokers and notaries who have all told me that this was a mistake worthy of a reduction in fees. Yes, my broker and I *could* have caught the notary's error, but it was the notary's *job* to draft the documents properly. These transactions are complex and it's the reason why notaries exist. Saying that I *could* have caught it is like saying that I could have done anyone's job for them if I wanted it done properly, when in fact we are paying for a service. If I had to do it myself why would I be paying someone ~$1000. Needless to say, I chose to go with another notary for my next transaction.
