I'm the kind of person who does extensive research primarily using Google and Google Reviews to choose places I go when I travel. I love souvenirs for myself and my loved ones and knew I wanted to get all my Montreal souvenirs from Chinatown, because they're usually the cheapest and I like to save money. Before exploring Montreal's Chinatown, I identified Boutique 101 and K Souvenirs as the two places I liked the most online. When I arrived in Chinatown, we walked into several souvenir stores that looked promising from the outside but most turned out to be quite disappointing and some were absolutely terrible. Many of these stores are selling cheaply made souvenirs at ridiculous markups, especially for a city's Chinatown. One tiny store, an anime store, sprayed us down (our hands) without our consent with hand sanitizer and told us to stay together while shopping because it is a small store (presumably so we could reduce the spread of our air throughout the store). Multiple employees then harassed us after nearly each step we took in the store, asking us what we wanted and eavesdropping on our conversations about the stuff in the store- and it felt like all they wanted was for us to get out as soon as possible after buying something. Understandably, they were trying to stay safe from respiratory diseases and be helpful shopkeepers- but the line between being a respectful shopkeeper and an overbearing and pushy one is not a fine line at all. I literally had to leave my boyfriend in the store because it was a terrible shopping experience- that has never happened to me before, ever. However, K Souvenirs was manned by one quirky, friendly, and funny man on the Saturday that we went. The storefront is just a corner and the actual store is down the stairs and shares the stairs with a salon- it is quite literally a hidden gem of Montreal's Chinatown. The first time I went to K Souvenirs that day, I gauged the prices of all the souvenirs and found the magnets and keychains to all be $2.99 and with no tax! The man also has a shirt/tote bag/sweater printing device and can make you custom items on demand for reasonable prices. I left the store and went to other stores to compare the prices, and no other place had those low and fair prices for their goods. We returned and bought all the cute souvenirs we wanted and chatted with the shopkeeper. TL,DR: Go to K Souvenirs for the cheapest and fairest-priced souvenirs in Montreal. I know there's an accent in there somewhere but I'm just too lazy to put it in. Have a wonderful day and time in Montreal, and if you're that man and you're reading this- this is the Filipino girl with the Vietnamese boyfriend, and you are awesome! Go you! You made our trip to Chinatown so wonderful!

This store supports Fonus. A company that backs Simon Tian and all of his scams and illegal activities. He ask for your personal information on a public chat. Very scary. He goes by the name of Kenny. Avoid this place at all cost.

When we went to the great city, I immediately knew that souvenirs that screams Montral is a must. We went through different stores to scale for the perfect products, but then stumbled upon this gem in Chinatown. The guy that runs the show is super cool and his products price is very reasonable. He printed lots of hoodies for us to try and was very patient and enthusiastic about it. Definitely a go to place for souvenirs and will surely recommend it to anyone that goes to Montral. Cant wait to go back to this haven place! Merci Beacoup Monsieur! Ps, he also gave us cool Quebec stickers for free:)

I came to montreal with my friends from the US. After walking around the city we decided to go visit Chinatown. It was crowded and stuffy. My friends and I decided to go back to our apartment, we came across this hidden gem. The story was small but packed with various souvenirs all at reasonable cost but the real surprise was the customer service. The clerk assisted us right away with baskets and explained the pricing. He also spoke English, French, and Spanish which really nice. He was also really friendly and funny. I will definitely coming back for my next montreal trip. I highly recommend.
