The girl who gave the eval was cold. They do the report but do not give a plan. I inquired about the social group therapy where language can be practiced. She refused, telling me my kid was not ready. The second time, she did not reply to my email. She is very clicky. Too bad because she seemed nice. I also got the impression they think about money because after the report was done, the behaviours changed. Its like they didnt want us anymore as clients. Take the money and get out is blocks policy.

If you are looking for a team of enthusiastic and knowledgeable professionals within the context of speech therapy, I highly recommend Blocks. Our first experience with Blocks was almost 6 years ago with our son, who is on the Autism Spectrum. With a move from Colorado to a strange new place and country, we had no idea how thankful we were to find this clinic that provided services we were familiar with in the US. His needs revolved around language processing and conversational pragmatics. We came into the clinic already with a diagnosis of Language Processing Disorder for our son and had a lot of documentation for some of the weaknesses and challenges our son was experiencing within both the home and school life. Mrs. Perl Greenfeld, the clinical director, provided the assessment using appropriate, relevant, and proven practices that gave us, as parents, the context that helped us understand what would provide our son the necessary treatment to help him thrive in his spheres of life. Evaluations utilized but not limited to were the: Clinical Evaluation of Language Fundamentals-5th Edition (CELF-5); Woodcock Reading Mastery Tests 3rd Edition (WRMT 3); Pragmatic Language Skills Inventory (PLSI); an informal observation; and my wife and I filled out a parent report. The results were then provided to us in a clear fashion through a typewritten report that we could share with any professionals involved in the care of our son. Throughout these 5 years, including the pandemic (which also merits another heaping amount of praise for how they provided above and beyond care during a weird and difficult period of time), we have had nothing but world-class care and support for our son. Practical applications, second-language integration, and a personal approach are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the strategies that Mrs. Greenfeld and her staff use. Some of the staff, including Vanessa Sabbah, Claudio Ales, and Kelsey Sazant, have been so kind, personable, relatable, fair, encouraging, and empathetic to our son, who needs these interventions to help him progress in his challenges. Some of the highlights, gains, and celebrations we have seen throughout these sessions include a newfound love for reading, engaging in pro-social, normative, and age-appropriate conversations with other youth his age, a balanced approach towards conversation sharing, and compassion towards others he speaks to, and ultimately a much better handle on language so he can communicate his needs. If you are on the fence, please don't hesitate to reach out to us and ask about how important the services that Blocks provides give your children something that will impact them for the rest of their lives. Don't waste these precious moments to help your kiddos gain such necessary skills, often skills we as neurotypics take for granted. We continue to obtain services here. We were not compensated for this feedback. This is not bot-generated content, and we are definitely real. -Jonathan
