If you are looking to learn and improve, it is best to avoid Cargair at CYHU. My main issue with this flight school is the chief instructor's lack of interest in her students. She is too busy to help and avoids addressing their problems or mistakes. If you try to seek help, she will yell or make premature conclusions without giving you a chance to explain yourself. She is not interested in understanding your concerns or finding solutions, and instead of teaching, she is demeaning and insulting. Moreover, there must be administration or support to turn to if you face any issues. The staff comes off as arrogant, rude, and insensitive, showing little interest in their students' progress. They sometimes display outright disdain and bias, especially towards visible minorities. This negative approach to education is unprofessional and does not allow students to learn from their mistakes. They treat you like a child instead of a responsible adult. Many students are beginning to avoid this school for good reasons. If you make a mistake, they will not be constructive and try to teach you to improve. This approach needs to be more professional, and you will waste a lot of money and time waiting for long processes in a busy airport. You have to pay a landing fee, and there are long line-ups for taxiing and take-off. Your first solo will take at least six months, and you must pay extra for unnecessary dual hours. Finding a school that treats you like a human being and values your education is better. The ATC will only allow your circuit training sometimes, and they will cut you out of the program without notice if you make minor mistakes. She will drive you to the front desk to refund only the remaining cash in your account. Then BYE. You do not need to risk your career by enrolling in a school that does not care about your future. Many students have left this school and opted for better options elsewhere. In summary, the critical issues with this school are: Low professionalism. Lousy management skills. Racism. A busy airport. Long wait times for take-off and landing. Bad attitudes from the ATC. I would only recommend this school if you want to ruin your dream and have lots of time and money. Find a school that respects you as a human being, shows loyalty, and has a better atmosphere.
