In the second year of renting, we received a 20% rent increase in January, asking 1.5k for a very small 4 1/2. We got this notice in January, mandating a response within a month. Meanwhile, rent renews in July. With the current housing crisis, it is clear that the landlord is using housing insecurity to pressure tenants into accepting greedy, immorally high rent increases.
