I was told when I adopted my kitten that $100 of the $150 was to pay for him to be fixed, I was also specifically told I could have the time he could get fixed extended once if I needed to. First I called to get an extention (one of my cats is still not taking well to him and my partner will be out of town for a few weeks this month so I am very worried about him being left at home while I'm working while he is healing) I explained this, and the woman I spoke to was insanely condescending and quite frankly laughed at me and accused me of lying that I was ever told that, denying the extention. My partner was in fact there at the adoption and was told the same thing along with the info about the fee. I was also then told that the fee I paid did not cover the entire cost of getting him fixed, I called my vet to make the appointment, I was then told that I would have to pay $220 to have him fixed and that I would he reimbursed $100. This was never at all said or implied by the Humane Society staff. I have honestly never had good experiences adopting through the Humane Society, and I told myself I never would again, but I fell in love with this kitten. There is always misinformation given and hidden fees to gouge you for more money. Needless to say i won't be dealing with MJ Humane Society or any other from now on. Edit: I would like to clarify that the rest of the staff I dealt with were very friendly, it was this one very rude person in particular and the general misinformation I was once again given that prompted me to even leave a review to begin with.
