I was in town helping my dad out after he suffered a stroke. My whole intention of renting a car was to get myself to the airport at 3 AM to make my 5 AM international flight. I reserved the car online, used my debit card, and voila! Or so I thought! Budget, you NEED to accept debit cards online AND in person!! I handed him my DEBIT card to pay and he said he could only accept CREDIT cards to pick up! I thought I had already paid for the car! It accepted my DEBIT card online, why wouldn't it accept it here?! He gave no explanation except to say it was company policy. Longer story, cut short, I had to call my uncle to come 'bail me out'!! SO humiliating!! When I got home, I went online and in the FAQs found that Budget only accepts DEBIT cards in US locations! WTHeck?!!
