Incredibly responsive, a wealth of knowledge and an overall great human being. Josh responded very quickly to my clients concerns with vermiculite asbestos. He was able to test with next day turnaround and worked hard to provide solutions, quotes and peace of mind. Thank you Josh for your hard work and care throughout the process.

Several months ago, some work in the attic reached the top of the honey-do list. After popping my head into the mayhem of cobwebs, dust and insulation, I quickly realized that I was outside of my element. I knew that the house was built during the era when asbestos was a thing, but Id be hard-pressed to tell it from a hole in the head. This is when I reached out to Josh at Built Environments Canada. Josh arrived promptly, and efficiently collected samples for testing and was meticulous with the clean-up of the space he worked in. The results came promptlynothing bad, we were free to continue. I was struck by the quick response, professionalism, and follow-up. Nearly a year later, I found myself pondering some building health questions that materialized from a bathroom renovation. Midway through replacing the old ceiling fan, I discovered that it was venting into insulation much of which appeared to be charred! Wondering if this was common practice for the do-it-yourselfer types, and if it was indeed as bad as I assumed, I called Josh again. I gave him the low-down of what I found. Without a moments hesitation, Josh downloaded a wealth of information all the whys, the hows, and the pitfalls to watch out for. The materials needed and tips and techniques to get the best results. Likely 30 minutes passed as I jotted notes furiously. Thanks to the expert advice and generosity of Josh at Built Environments Canada, I was able to complete the job properly and without mishap. It looks great, works great and is no longer a mould or fire hazard. I expected a consultation fee or some such. It is yet to come. So I figured the least I could do was tell folks surfing the interwebs or considering Josh for a job they need assessed, about the amazing experience I had with Built Environments Canada! Thanks, Josh, good karma be with you!

I was having some humidity issues and was concerned about the air quality so I called Josh. He was very quick to respond and out to my place. The equipment he had was impressive and he was able to diagnose the issue. With Joshs help we were able to tackle the issue before it became a problem. Josh Kulyk is one of these rarer breeds of truly GOOD people who was referred to me by one of the top electricians in Saskatoon. This electrician (Paul Langlois) - who was suggested to me by many close friends in Saskatoon - put me in touch with Josh so we could get my brothers house tested for environmental issues prior to the electrical being done. Well let me tell you we hit the jackpot finding Josh! As previously mentioned, Josh initially tested my brothers house (I live in Vancouver and my brother in Saskatoon) for air quality and mould - among other things. My brother has autism and I ran the renovation from Vancouver via a few visits, many texts, emails and phone calls - definitely not an easy task and Josh and his team (amazing professionals who have high standards and dont rip you off) were able to discover and fix a much larger issue than what we thought was just mould. Josh is extremely well educated, smart, innovative, caring, highly articulate and an expert in his field - he knows more than most about how houses should breathe and about creating safe environments for people to live in. His knowledge base is staggering and his ability to explain complex issues in laymans terms is excellent. All reports were highly detailed and professional. Josh basically saved my brothers life as he discovered the problem was an issue with excessive carbon monoxide, dioxide and other chemicals in the air. Because my brothers house had not been looked at closely for many many years - Josh explained that had the pressure in the house dropped - my brother and his tenant would have died. Him and his guys basically saved my brothers life by finding a way, within our limited budget, to get this solved - along with sparking and smouldering electrical issues that were discovered by Paul. A fire or suffocation could have caused my brother an early death. To give this perspective, I had someone else look at the house and not for a second (if I had hired them) would they have spotted the root of the problem and my brother could still have died. We had no clue how bad it was until Josh came in with his expertise. The air quality in the house now is night and day and you can almost feel the house breathe! Through the months of getting to know Josh via email, phone and text - and in person on a couple of my visits to meet with him, I found Josh to be super nice, accessible, prompt to get back to me, polite (even when under great stress) and just the kind of person who we need more of in this world. He has so much integrity and he truly cares. It meant a lot to him to help my brother(not just to us) and that meant the world to me and to my brother. He has such an exceptional work ethic and he surrounds himself with people who strive for excellence as well, and those - like himself - who give back to the community in their spare time - something that is sooo important to me! All of the tradespeople he got on board for the project were so great with my brother and his silly weird quirks. They were extremely kind, patient and helpful and I really felt a level of trust and no worries whatsoever that things would get done right - and they were - and even better than we expected! It takes a lot of trust and faith to have someone run a project of this complexity and size for you from such a long distance and he has been solid all the way! I honestly could not suggest a better person to hire or work with - hes all class. And yes he is that great - Im not blowing anything out of proportion here. Finding someone who knows and cares about people and people with disabilities the way he does, is rarer and that, combined with such a level of high quality, honesty and reliability - well we are beyond grateful for ALL the tons of big and tiny details he took care of over the course of getting this done. We will be forever grateful - Saskatoon, and the outer areas he travels to - are so lucky to have him!!!
