My mother took the MAA course and it was absurdly out of date. They were being taught Microsoft 2010, which is insanely out of date and irrelevant to what almost everyone is using, the computers were old and the teaching methods were from the 1980s. They had multiple tests pretty much every week from beginning to end, and they crammed what should be a year + worth of material into less then a year. My considerably higher quality university barely tests as it is hardly indictive of what people have actually absorbed. You force yourself to memorize the material and it stays there for a day, then you forget about it. Not to mention test anxiety. Oh, and they haven't upgraded their tests to match their curriculum. Several times they were being tested on stuff they never were taught. McKay needs to join this decade.

Poor communication that leaves students hanging, constantly changing staff (which says a lot about this place), and a program director that is great at making things seem fine and like they care about you, when really all they want is your tuition.

I was a student at McKay Career Training and took the Criminal Justice (Justice and Security Services) Diploma Program. Ida, Brian, Alicia, and Leon were AMAZING instructors. Coming from many different walks of the justice system they all had first hand experience. They used their expertise to better explain topics that we were learning in class and I felt that this improved and made me excel and enjoy the program.

I recently finished The Medical Office Assistant (MOA) program and I had an incredible time in Mckay. I recommend this for everyone who want to be a part of the medical field and love to help others. I love the atmosphere over there, the staff are incredibly nice, from the front desk; Jamie, Sonya and Kelsey are very welcoming and full of support towards us students. Specially our lovely principal Shelley who was one of the nicest and understanding people Ive met. And of course, our amazing instructors Kim, Lorelei, Sandy and Tammy. Kim who taught us the clinical aspect of the program was an amazing instructor since day 1. Kim was full of life and didnt make learning boring, she was very enthusiastic and full of life. Lorelei who taught us the administrative aspect of the course, she was very sweet and caring to us students. She was full of endearment and very supportive towards us students. It was a bittersweet moment when the program ended and Ive grown so much since I attended Mckay. I wont hesitate to visit from time to time because I just love to be there. It was such an amazing opportunity. Thank you!!! -JC
