Nancy K., CCC-SLP shares: "I have 20 ++ years experience as a speech language pathologist working with children. For the past 3 school years I have had the pleasure and personal growth of serving a school district as a TinyEye SLP. During this time, I have been able to positively impact more students in a shorter period of time, than in any of my past experiences as an onsite therapist. ....AND have established extremely close relationships with my students.I had one 3rd grader ask if she could share something with me. I , of course said, "yes". She said, "I feel so close to you. It's like you are sitting right here beside me." I asked my students before Christmas, "If you could have anything in this world for Christmas, what would you want?" I had a 4th grade fluency student say , "to meet you." Talk about a touching moment! There are times every day that I am so thankful that I can be with my student's and watch their smiles as they grow self confidence and pride in themselves. The teachers are wonderful as they share curriculum vocabulary, spelling words, current reading stories with me each week as we partner in order to insure that the students academic progress is met. Together we share our students successes in IEP meetings. Each week I have teachers reach out to me and share how much they appreciate the way we are working together and how much growth the students are enjoying. Kids love the telepractice medium. Even the most shy students feel empowered using the computer. This is also true with several life skills students on my caseload, who love telling me, "I'm a genius!!!! I can do that!" I can go on and on, but for any who questions the efficacy of telepractice needs to experience it first hand, and then draw your own conclusion. For me, telepractice with TinyEye has taken my ability to help students to a new level. I am not feeling any pressure with paperwork. My notes are completed online every day and available to the child's parents and teachers immediately. The students enjoy an online backpack where they can show their family and teachers exactly what they are working on and can practice together. The online activities easily engage the students and reduce the planning frustration and time for the therapist. Progress monitoring is tracked by the computer and measured in percentages. Progress is easily shown and available. I guess my bottom line with telepractice is, I can't imagine ever going back to onsite.s you can tell, I'm a believer!" by Nancy K., CCC-SLP
