They want to charge $400 for the first scheduled service (a cabin filter change and inspection) or they'll void my warranty. This seems very high and others in the owner group have reported this being as low as free and included with their sale or as high as $135.
As a result I was a bit confused and started looking more into my service schedule.
I discovered that the "In service date" for the demo model they sold me must have been incorrect as the 2 year service light has come on 8 months and/or 15,000km early.
I'm hoping there's been some sort of mistake and I can work with Mahesh to get this sorted so I can come back and update this review.
EDIT: I have received a response from Mahesh. The service is still far more expensive than what I'd expect for an inspection and cabin air filter. I'm pretty sure I paid less for getting my out-of-province truck inspected and safetied.
This on top of other issues will deter me from being a repeat customer. (I was promised flat-bed service to the dealership for warranty issues by Erick Strong at the time of purchase that never materialized, I am chalking this up to him misunderstanding the Volvo On Call service).
But given that this will be the only service the vehicle needs during its warranty period I am looking forward to putting my dealings with Volvo Saskatoon behind me and hope others have a better time.
All that said I've moved from 1-star to 3-stars because this is more or less in line with the kind of experience I'd expect from any dealership and is why the term "stealership" sticks around.
