We had used Lydale for a simple claim to remove and replace flooring. We had met with Aaron Pierce who was the general contractor and project manager on numerous occasions to discuss a custom piece of walnut furniture that was really important to us and that could not be damaged. I even went so far as to label it again for the workers. I met with Aaron again before the job was scheduled and stressed how important it was to be careful with this extremely valuable piece of custom made furniture. Upon arriving after the job was finished we were surprised to find all the bottles from a liquor cabinet was emptied on top of the very important piece of furniture that we had met several times to specifically say was important. Our house was completely covered in a thick layer of flooring dust. We texted a picture to Aaron who immediately started to blame the people who installed the flooring. I was surprised to learn that Aaron who was given the relatively easy task of co ordinating only two sets of workers failed to communicate anything to the flooring installers. When we texted him he said he thought the job was done so we were tasked with sending him pictures of baseboards still not on, our house completely dirty, our furniture stacked in the entrance to bedrooms, and our furniture damaged. Once in communication with the Lydale workers who were supposed to move the furniture they we found out they only moved small items which had been piled into our bedrooms restricting access to the rooms when we arrived home. They left the liquor cabinet which I had specifically shown Aaron how to remove the cabinet doors to make it lighter to move. I told him there was room in the basement for all the furniture. When the Lydale employees didnt move the liquor cabinet the flooring installers who had been given zero directions from the general contractor Aaron put the bottles on the expensive piece of furniture. I was also told by the installers that they had to remove baseboards as well. Lydale quoted on moving furniture that wasnt moved, and removing baseboards and a small independent flooring installer ended up doing the work for free. Additionally, Lydale made the flooring installers pay for the repair of the furniture making the job unprofitable for them when its the responsibility of the general contractor to communicate with everyone what is expected at the job. In the end they got cleaners to clean the house and also charged that to the flooring installers. At the end of everything I couldnt open my cabinet doors because they were hitting on the stove. They sent a finisher over to move my stove which then caused the stove to leak from the fitting. I was told by insurance to withhold payment until I was satisfied so because my stove was leaking I asked Aaron to get that sorted out and Id give him the cheque. Fast forward to today and I have no use of my stove, SaskEnergy had to shut off my gas. If you are reading this review I would highly suggest that you co-ordinate your own trades. The insurance company said if we used Lydale they would guarantee the work, they would move all the furniture and that they would take away any hassle. From my experience if you end up getting any outside installers there will be no communication between the project manager so youll end up having to be the middle man. They didnt move all my furniture and left it to the flooring installers which wasnt their responsibility and then blamed them for everything. My stove still has a leak and since they have been paid already I imagine that will also end up being my responsibility to get fix and I will be stuck with the bill. Document everything and take a lot of pictures as they will also ask for proof. For a simple remove and replace flooring claim, and being super clear on expectations everything that could go wrong did go wrong and they stopped communicating with us. They said they had the wrong email address but had both our phone numbers and we were in direct contact with the project manager. The guarantee is nothing
