Went in to look at a used 2018 civic si, the windshield was cracked in 2 spots but was still a good looking car so took it out for a test drive. the service light was on for a service past due. I asked if the window was going to be fixed was told it was not. I also asked if a proper inspection was done on the vehicle (considering the fact that a maintenance light was on) was told that no and also that it would not be done. this is really unfortunate as if you look on their website it actually says right on the webiste under the used car portion on the standard motors website. "All of our used vehicles have been carefully inspected to make sure that they are all in top condition."
Buyer beware, I cannot speak to their new inventory but the used vehicles on the lot may not have any kind of inspection.
My sales person was honest about the car not being inspected so I am not upset with my salesperson Hector, but whoever is making the decision on taking on trades etc without doing any kind of inspection on these used vehicles??? seems to go against a policy they probably used to honor in years past.
At no time during the sales process whether it was during the sit down or when texting back and forth with my salesman
was i made aware that this car was anything other than a traded in used vehicle.
I wish i had been told that this sale was going to be treated like a wholesale deal. That would have been fine as i would have gone into the deal with full transparency. I only know this now based on my review response

We were on our way from Saskatoon to Cypress Hills with a vehicle full of camping stuff and ran into some vehicle troubles, we stopped in swift current at standard motors to explain our situation and the issue we were having. They helped us out and fit us in right away to figure out we needed a new bearing and hub, we were back on the road in less than 2hrs. Start with the positive and that is 1 star for Laurie as only person there that helped me. My partners suv when in for a puncture repair, left vehicle in town till could get it home following day and there "repair" had only made the puncture worse. Returned vehicle to them to get tyre replaced under the warranty which we had been sold on purchasing the vehicle. (Being AWD I knew have to change all 4 tyres at 1 time and I questioned this before purchasing the warranty and was told they will do whatever it needs to be fixed right.) Anyway warranty were only going to pay for 1 so glad I got ripped of by the sales team with the warranty!!! Wanted to change to a 17inch rim with a LT tyre so wouldn't have issues with soft tyres, I found rims and tyres went into the parts department and showed what had found and explained the situation was told can get 18inch LT tyre in same size so said you find the tyres and I will get rims but only once confirmed the 18 LT tyre! So I had to call 3 times over 4 days to get an answer on the tyres as they never called me back! Was told they found 18inch tyres so went ahead ordered rims and went in following day to find out more on the tyres. Was then told they weren't LT tyres!!!! So I had now wasted $1100 on wrong size rims they knew they messed up but never offered a solution for there mistake! I wasn't going to argue for them to do their job right as i shouldn't have too. By this point SUV had been there nearly two weeks and in the following couple days they called my partner asking when she was going to drop vehicle off! They had forgotten it was there!(At start of this I had told them to contact myself not my partner so had failed to do that, forgot car was there and cost me $1100 on wrong rims $1100 on tyres I didn't want by this point) . To top this off was informed that TPS would need to be replaced at $45 a piece as old ones were glued on and can't save them!( I added a picture of that "glued" on none saveable sensor). Then the mechanic that swapped tyres and put old ones in her SUV rather then move her personal items onto empty seat they just rammed the tyres on top of it !!! This is just one of our bad experiences at this dealership since purchasing this vehicle from them.
Since then standard motors have reimbursed the cost of the tyres and sensors with gift cards to use at the dealership which is appreciated and I have raised the rating as they identified the issue and have resolved it. Jul 17th, 2022
