Rooms: The rooms are dated. Need to be updated. Shower curtain was ripped & full of holes. Also noted no hand bars to get into the tub to shower - especially for Seniors. Only one chair in the room. Nearby activities: Only golf or walking that was it. Noteworthy details: How friendly the staff was, even though they seemed to be confused about what to do with correcting actual bill for our stay. Very quiet. Enjoyed the restaurant The Wyld. Just make sure you check your bill to your confirmation rceipt you receive.

We stayed at ElkRidge on the Lake (formerly Lakewood Lodge). We've stayed there several times before under the previous ownership of Dwayne 5 + years ago. The service was incredible there, very nice and accommodating staff. The walls are paper thin, though. So we were easily woken up by people having a conversation in the back of the unit by the parking spaces. Sounded like they were in the bedroom. Also, there was a person staying above us the first night and they paced constantly with very firm step, which was aggravating. When we mentioned this to the staff, they handled it well. Thankfully that person checked out shortly after. The last few times we stayed there, the floors were filthy. A few years ago, we actually asked if they could come in and mop it because after only a few minutes of walking, our feet were DIRTY. The staff at the time brought the mop bucket and expected US to mop!!!! The water was just gross. Now that Elk ridge owns the unit, ithink those staff members are gone, but the floors were still filthy. Needed to wear slippers the whole time. They need to be scrubbed by hand, I think. Overall, the location is fabulous, staff is very accommodating and friendly. Would stay again and just bring ear plugs for the noise of the neighbour's and people outside when sleeping.... and slippers because of the floors.

I booked a suite at Elk Ridge on the Lake for a solo vacation at the beginning of May. The suite was spotlessly clean, well supplied with the basics, and the location couldn't be better. Right across the road from the lake, I could hear the loons and see the sunset from my balcony. Easy walking distance to everything in Waskesiou townsite. Nancy, the property manager, was friendly and helpful. The 'little free library' in the lobby is a nice touch. I've already made my reservation for next spring!
