The building is often very dirty. There has been a piece of packing tape hanging from the ceiling of the elevator since I moved in back in March. It took 2 months to have my second fob for the front door replaced. Building management recently sent out an email asking the tenants to clean the laundry machines between uses. The machines charge us $5.75/load. My nextdoor neighbor moved out on September 30th and the new neighbor moved in October 1, I was home this entire time and there was zero effort made to clean the suite prior to the new tenant. The rent is inflated for what the building is. Oh, and there's no parking. There is a parking lot that's completely empty from 5:30pm to 7am and you can't purchase a pass to park there during that time. Expect to pay $200/month on top of your rent in order to park and then that's street level parking where my window has been smashed twice in the time I've lived here.

I have lived at Scott Block for over 4.5 years now. I love the building so much that I moved into a larger suite within the building, over moving somewhere else. The suites are really beautiful, with huge windows, high ceilings and lovely kitchens and bathrooms. The building itself is very quiet - unless someone is talking in the hallway, I cant hear anyone from the suites around me. The rooftop patio has amazing views of downtown towards the Forks and has a bbq as well as plenty of seating. The location cant be beat - its about 10 mins to the Forks and close to everything downtown and in the exchange. I have looked at other apartment buildings in downtown (as part of my job) and feel that the rent is more than fair against comparable units. Its very well insulated so while tenants are responsible for hydro, even in the coldest months, I dont pay more than $30 (and I have one of the larger units - most tenants would pay less).
