I have had my taxes done here for years. They are always the same, and exceptionally basic. This year, when I went to file, I explained repeated it was exactly the same as last year- no changes, just a bit more income. My taxes were done within 2 hours of drop-off, and when they called me to confirm my information before submitting I reiterated it is the same as last year- going into detail and answering all questions clearly. WELL, over a month later, I have discovered that whoever did my taxes (they refuse to provide a name and the agent has repeatedly refused to contact me about the many issues) completely disregarded ALL of the information provided, and did not check last years to compare. They tried to claim multiple credits I am not eligible for, cannot explain why, and have caused a FOUR FIGURE discrepancy in my taxes. In the past weeks I have made no less than six phone calls attempting to find out what happened, how, and find a resolution. I have been promised multiple callbacks that never materialized. They are now asking me to sign off on an ammendment, but considering they can't even explain WHY or HOW my original (rushed) taxes were so error riddled, after I repeated myself so many times, and confirmed before submission... I am deeply concerned about further errors.
