John H. Shin Med. Professional

I needed a specialist and Dr. Shin was recommended by a number of friends. He is absolutely brilliant and thorough in his examination and diagnosis. He took the time to explain my options with diligence. He made me feel comfortable with his professionalism and approachable personality. I was extremely impressed by not only him but also his staff. I did see a couple of reviews from patients about timing I will say he saw me right on time. But even if he hadnt I would prefer my doctor to be a little late because he is taking the extra time to ensure absolute care for each patient instead of a doctor that sees patients quickly without resolving the issue or guessing. Dr. Shin truly cares about his patients and holds himself to a very high standard when it comes to patient care. Thank you Dr. Shin. Youre officially my ophthalmologist going forward!

I had the worst experience of my life with this doctor. First, his secretary who des not speak English and would not understand how to communicate properly with the poor patient. both she and the doctor were rude and their behaviour is unbelievable. the secretary started shouting at the patient and telling the patient to get out of the clinic because the poor patient asked her to speak to the doctor before the operation. they have no respect, and no affection for the patient, and it seems as if you are in a banana republic country not in Canada in which there is no respect for human beings. I felt the poor patient humiliated by both secretary and the doctor. This situation forced me to defend the patient who felt humiliated by the secretaries and the doctor himself. By the way, I left the clinic. When I want to explain the situation to the doctor, he said that the right is always with his secretary, and if the situation does not please anyone I. his office they can leave. The height of insolence and far from civil.

I found Dr. Shin to be straight forward , clear with his communication.He was straight regarding the severity of his eye inflammation on the first day: He truly care for his patient. He even give appointments multiple times in a week till the issue resolved. Wish you all the best !!

Really great Doctor, answered all my questions, and took his Time to explain and advise me of multiple options to better my vision.(glasses, contacts..etc) He took the time to draw the eyes and explain to me how my vision got effected. I would absolutely recommend to check your eyes with Doctor John.

Dr. John H. Shin is a very knowledgeable and kind person. As soon as he saw a brownish stain on the tip of my nose, he advised me to set an appointment either with my family doctor, or in a Walk-in clinic. He told me that the stain could be a very serious type of cancer. Since l didn't set an appointment right away, he truly pushed me to visit the Walk-in clinic urgently, which l finally did. The main doctor at the clinic referred me immediately to a Dermatologist, who performed the proper skin removal for a biopsy. Nine days later, l was told by the Dermatologist that the biopsy tests showed up a very aggressive type of cancer which was a melanoma that it is capable of spreading out relatively fast to other organs in my body. For this same reason, l was referred by the Dermatologist to a Plastic Surgeon doctor. A few days later l had the stained portion of my nose removed. According to this plastic surgeon doctor, the risk of cancer growth was under control. I am indeed very grateful to Dr. John H. Shin for his professional advice and great concern about my personal health and well being. He constantly shows his care and concerns for other people and he is really a highly qualified doctor and a great human being. There is no doubt at all that Dr. Shin always demonstrates his great professionalism and willingness to help people.
